Political Philosophy
I am of the belief that people should live life with the most creative freedom possible; to pursue their interests without concern about whether or not they will have food, shelter, warmth, security, or community at the end of the day.
Is that idealistic? Yes. But is it feasible? I believe so. I didn't simply think to myself one day, "people should have creative freedom," and decide it will happen based on that. I have spent years looking at information regarding human psychology and social psychology; anthropology and archaeology; biology and history; and of course, the political philosophies that have already been thought up throughout history. |
What is anarcho-communism?
I won't bore you with the details about different branches of anarchism and their histories. I'll just say this: anarcho-communism has at its heart the opposition to authoritarianism and inequality; in other words, to capitalism and the state. While we may disagree with exactly how we get there, our end goal is a classless, stateless, and moneyless society. We also oppose using an authoritarian "socialist" state to bring about our end goal. We are class-conscious, meaning that we agree with a lot of Marx's analysis of class dynamics and his interpretation of the Labour Theory of Value.
Anarcho-communists believe that our end goal, communism, can only be achieved via revolution. While evolutionary change can provide necessary improvements in society, it can never bring about a just society. So, while some of us may be involved in policy change, we do not see it as the best or only strategy for change.
